Why Bitcoin could crash below $80K today after another failed rebound

Bitcoin faces downward pressure and potential consolidation below $80K as rising US Treasury yields, higher oil prices, and weak technical indicators dampen investor risk appetite.

How low can Ethereum go after losing $2,500 and wiping out $345M?

Ethereum fell below $2,500 amid rising Treasury yields, economic headwinds, and $345 million in futures liquidations. Spot Ethereum ETFs also recorded eight consecutive sessions of net outflows.

XRP is crashing below $1.40: could the next breakdown send it to $1.28?

XRP has slipped below the critical $1.40 threshold amid broader market pressures and rising exchange reserves, raising concerns that a continued sell-off could test support levels near $1.28.

XRP whales just bought $2.2B: is the price about to break past $1.50?

Over the 24 hours leading up to Sept. 21, XRP advanced nearly 4% to change hands around $1.44, building on its seven-day gains as major holders began accumulating the asset.

Data from CoinGecko shows that XRP fluctuated between approximately $1.37 and $1.44 during the day, with purchasers driving the token past $1.40 prior to nearing the peak of its intraday span.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin surpassed $81,800 earlier in the session, posting a gain of more than 5% over the prior week, while the aggregate cryptocurrency market capitalization grew by roughly 1.7%.

Bitcoin dominance ticked down slightly as several prominent altcoins climbed alongside XRP.

Surpassing the broader market performance during the recent trading window, XRP benefited from large wallets gathering tokens during its bounce from the $1.24–$1.26 zone.

Information shared by analyst Ali Martinez from Santiment reveals that the monitored whale group scooped up roughly 1.54 billion XRP across a 96-hour span.

Valued at close to $2.2 billion, these acquisitions elevated the collective holdings of this cohort to approximately 9.81 billion XRP.

At the same time, CryptoQuant noted about 1.6 billion XRP moving into Binance over a 30-day rolling window, representing the highest volume observed since March.

Growing development activity on the XRP Ledger served as a secondary, project-specific catalyst.

The XRP Ledger approaches its upcoming network overhaul as validators build consensus for the Batch V1.1 proposal.

The upgrade currently enjoys support from 30 out of 35 tracked validators, comfortably clearing the 28 votes necessary to satisfy the network’s 80% threshold.

Having entered its majority countdown phase on Sept. 15, the amendment could officially activate around Sept. 29 if backing stays above the mandatory threshold.

RippleX has pointed out that commercial entities and asset managers are readying themselves to utilize Batch, though the specific companies have not been named publicly.

Potential use cases highlighted by RippleX encompass exchange fee transactions and delivery versus payment, offering institutions a mechanism to execute multiple steps within a solitary transaction.

Concurrently, institutional interest via United States spot XRP exchange-traded funds stays robust on an aggregate basis.

These investment vehicles have pulled in roughly $1.7 billion in cumulative net inflows, leaving net assets sitting near $1.39 billion as of Sept. 17.

XRP price analysis

The daily valuation of XRP has recovered to roughly $1.44 after slipping down to the $1.24–$1.26 bracket earlier in the month.

This bounce has pushed the price above all four daily exponential moving averages, as illustrated below.

The 20-day EMA rests close to $1.368, whereas the 200-day EMA hovers around $1.356. With XRP trading above both parameters, the $1.35–$1.37 band serves as a vital support floor if the current upward correction experiences a retracement.

The 50-day EMA sits lower at roughly $1.303, while the 100-day EMA is anchored near $1.268.

Consequently, a breakdown beneath $1.35 would direct attention toward $1.30, followed by the $1.27 zone where the 100-day EMA aligns closely with the recent swing low for XRP.

Purchasing momentum has not rebounded at the exact same pace as the spot price. The Chaikin Money Flow metric lingers slightly in negative territory at minus 0.05 after dipping below zero during the recent downturn.

Although the CMF has begun climbing from its latest trough, a push above zero is required to confirm that net capital inflows have officially turned positive once again.

The upper boundary of the 20-day Donchian Channel is positioned near $1.496, with the midpoint around $1.371 and the lower boundary down at $1.247.

XRP currently trades in the top half of the channel, sitting less than 4% beneath its upper boundary.

A daily candlestick close above the $1.45 region would place the Donchian ceiling near $1.50 as the immediate upside milestone.

Successfully clearing $1.50 could clear a path toward the recent spike zone of $1.54–$1.55, whereas a rejection near the channel peak would leave $1.37 as the primary downside level to monitor.

The Aroon Up indicator registers near 64.3%, contrasting with an Aroon Down reading of 50%.

The elevated Aroon Up figure supports the ongoing recovery, though neither metric sits at an extreme level that would definitively validate a strong, locked-in directional trend.

Liquidation tracking reveals a dense accumulation of leveraged bets positioned directly above the current market price of XRP.

The 24-hour Binance XRP/USDT liquidation heatmap displays concentrated liquidity around $1.45, with additional clusters stretching toward $1.47, as seen below.

Beneath the current price action, liquidation pools are evident around $1.39 and $1.38, alongside a larger band resting near $1.36–$1.37.

A push past $1.45 could therefore drive XRP toward the liquidity pockets resting between $1.45 and $1.47 before challenging the upper Donchian boundary near $1.50.

Failing to defend $1.38 would instead expose the $1.36–$1.37 zone, where the 20-day and 200-day EMAs converge alongside a substantial cluster of liquidations.

A drop under that specific threshold would subsequently bring the 50-day EMA near $1.30 back into play.
